End of Week 1

Well, It's official I have survived my first week of my couch to 5k training program! I can already tell the difference from day one to now. I am not only physically stronger, I feel mentally stronger as well. It may seem funny to you, but I really can tell the difference.

Physically, I feel great! I think my body is enjoying the fact that I am more active, Like I have said in previous posts, I have more energy, over all I have been in much better moods, which in turn help me in wanting to exercise regularly. My hip is even starting to get better. it's not 100% but Its getting there. I noticed that my cold only lasted a week, and usually they last FOREVER! This is awesome!

Mentally I feel I will be able to accomplish my goal. I am ready to take on a more challenging workout, and I am actually excited for the workout schedule for week 2. It's not a heck of a lot different, but it should be a little bit more challenging. Like people have previously said: Take it slow, and do it right!

Next weeks workout schedule:
Brisk 5 minute warmup walk
Alternate 90 seconds of jogging and 2 minutes of walking for a total of 20 minutes.

- For those of you that have been working out and would like to share your progress, hardships, goals, and accomplishments feel free!

David was really happy to hear that you had found a program to follow. When I told him about your first day, he said it was a recipe for disaster. When and where is the 5K? Want company?

It's not going to be an event. Just a personal run. I figured that I could do a 5k when it gets warmer as part of my training down the road.
