Second Annual Cinco De Mile-O

Well, I've been horrible at keeping up with my blog! I am the first to admit that I really should be updating this a little more often, or else people will start thinking that I have once again fallen off the running wagon. Well, no worries! I have been running about 3- 4 times a week since my last post, and am proud to say that I have once again completed my Cinco De Mile-O run. For those of you that have no idea what the heck i am talking about, please feel free to take a look at this link:

I am not going to lie and tell everyone that I easily ran the 5 miles today, recently i have only been running anywhere from 2.5- 3.1 so today was really a stretch, and I really wanted to quit at about 3.75, lucky for me, unlike last cinco de mile-o i had my wife with me, and she would have no part in letting me quit, THANK YOU MANDY!!!

A blast from the past

Today I did something that I haven't done in months. I ran 2 miles without stopping! I cannot believe how quickly I am getting back into this. Just yesterday my workout was run 8 walk 5 x 3 and i was struggling. Then today was a 20 minutes straight of running and I had no problem with it. It is amazing what it body is capable of doing when you set your mind to Something.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this in my last post, but I have been running almost 5 days a week and, I am already in week 6 of my program, and I can really tell a difference in how fast my body is able to adapt compared to my last attempt. I feel like by doing something every day I am adjusting quickly, but I am worried that I may be overdoing it. Nothing is hurting me but is still worried that this is going to come back and bite me in the butt later down the line. Or am
I over thinking this one?

Anyone else have a similar experience where you take a while off and are able to work out that much harder and on a more consistent basis? If so did you end up having anything happen as a result?

We All Fall Down

Okay... Its been a while, I know what you are all thinking. He stopped running, He gave up, His goal was too much for him. well, I am not going to lie. You're right. I did stop running, and had given up. I Guess I don't really have any good excuses for giving up, but I sure can give you a lot of them! But in all seriousness, I am back! I Didn't want to start blogging when i first started running again because I didn't want to keep reposting the same old, Here I am, starting again, just to sputter to a complete stop once again. So, I waited until I was about 5 weeks into another Couch to 5K program.

So far, It has been really tough to get back into the routine of things, but I can honestly say that I dont feel like I am starting from square one. The workouts have been challenging, but at the same time, I feel like I am getting through them with a lot less effort than when I started last year. I have even been running faster than my original couch to 5k program. I guess that it helps that I am starting off weighing less than last time...

For those of you that are wondering... Yes, I did put on about 15 or so pounds. But I am willing to get up, brush myself off and try again.

One thing that I have really missed since i have stopped running, is the support from my fellow running bloggers. So, If you are still stopping by after all this time PLEASE let me know how your quests are going and the struggles and triumphs you have been going through!

Week 5 Starts on Monday! Wish Me Luck!

It Feels Good to be Back!

After what seemed to be an extremely short/ busy weekend I was able to get another run in this evening, and I can't believe how good I feel after all is said and done. But boy is it hard to get motivated still! I just cant seem to LIKE to run. It always seems like a chore. I commented on someones blog that has been having the same problem, I told them that even though I haven't learned to like to run, I like the feeling that I am getting after I am running, and that right there is enough to keep me going.

The real test is going to be the upcoming months, we are planning on doing some remodeling around the house, and when i say remodeling, Im actually going to be helping. It's going to be a challenge to get the motivation after working all day on the house to then go and run. Anyone have any suggestions? I know there is the possibility of working out in the mornings before all the work gets started, but I am just not a morning person.
